The Assignment action will be extended to allow you direct assignment of the Datasource, Query, or beyond, a full swap in of a completely different configuration file. So within one control you can use many different interfaces.

Regarding the Message/actions I was thinking the following could be a valuable addition. At this time it is possible to lock yourself out of the module settings. If you add an action, for instance a redirect, to go of when the module loads you will never be able to edit the settings afterwards as the page cannot be accessed anymore. Maybe there is a way to incorporate a backdoor so you are always able to access the view options?

Actually, we are working on two things that will help with your problem. First, we will be able to manage any configuration from any listX module - so, you can edit a config from a completely different tab. Another feature will be an overide provided in the querystring which skips processing of all message actions.
