I just picked up my ListX version 1.8.0 documentation and proceded to look for something and suddenly I was quite shocked. What I discovered was just how much this product has grown in a short amount of time. You guys are truly making an excellent product and I am constantly telling my friends the power of ListX and suggesting they learn how to use it.

I have won several converts. I myself have plans to build several systems in ListX. I am using ListX on a project at work now. This product allows us to bring business systems up quickly and the ability to hide and show modules and use Ajax makes it possible to build responsive applications.

I would, however, like to see more documentation. This is not to say that the existing documentation is bad. On the contrary, the documentation is well written. However, there are some blank areas, and some functions could use some more explanation. Above all else, examples help me understand. I would like to see a dramatic increase in use case examples.

The only big blank spot I see is on the Default Properties (General settings) overview. I cannot find anything on the Javascript function to execute field. Also, the expanation of the Message Type field left me a bit confused.

In terms of expanded documentation, I would like to see expanded explanations of the Client Scripts and Utilities. I had to do a lot of trial and error to take lxFetch, lxModule, lxContainer and lxContainerGroup from documentation to fuctional command.

These client side scripts are golden. They allow me to make an application instead of just a web site. I am tackling validation next and I hope it is fleshed out more than the Utilities documentation.

Although the examples section does a great job of helping me understand how to get started with ListX, I would like to see many more examples of the functions as they are described. Or, perhaps an entire use case examples section that talks about use case of specific functions as opposed to entire ListX solutions.

Once again, thank you for giving this product to the world. You will gain a tremendous amount of recognition and growth as people like me start solving more and more business problems with ListX driven solutions. Thank you for your time. I hope this feedback helps.

Thank you,
Richard M.

Richard

Thanks for the constructive comments. We listen and try our best. Our latest release (v1.96) in fact has a terrific new LP example called Doctor Management that is one thing users have been really demanding. It represents a great sample of how to do a data entry, database driven solution based on NukeDk.ListX. Included is the typical Add, Edit, Delete, Search, List. But we have also gone well beyond this by including inline editing, parent child forms, control panel for support tables management, all the necessary controls (check boxes, drop down, validation, multi select, date select, images, sorting, paging, passing parameters between modules and pages, etc...). We have also updated the manual to include more examples because we understand this is how everyone learns best.

We will be releasing 1.97 in two weeks and this will have more references and new features such as email attachments and actions and more...

I think I'm like Richard in that I like to play the scales before I learn the symphony. The simple isolated ones that build a slight progression are my favorite. Though the big ones are very impressive, they are a lot to take in at a time and can be a little overwhelming.
