Our product lists use the RowNumber() technique for grabbing the data, and standard Listx Ajax paging.

We have a big problem in that we give the users the opportunity to change the number of records per page, to an amount like 150. It is a decent loading experience on PC FF/IE, but on Mac in both FF3 and Safari, the perceived loadtime is terrible: the loading.gif runs until every last product image has been loaded by the browser.

On PC, it immediately loads the first image and then progressively loads the images, and the user isn't stuck looking at a loading gif for 30 seconds.

Why would this behaviour be different between Mac and PC? The majority of our customers are on Mac so this is a biggy.

thanks.

Hello zymmetrical,
What you are seeing here may be intrinsic to using this on a Mac. I am not sure this is a browser issue with ListX because the app works ok in Firefox 3 on a PC. The image loading and the set HTTP version could be the root cause. Make sure that the mac system is set to HTTP 1.1 not 1.0.
Thanks,

Robert Chumley
