I use ListX to provide data about my current customers and www.AgingSafely.com. Google indexes the "Details" sheet for each customer to the same page followed by a querey string with their IDnumber. The SQL query for that page includes WHERE IsHosted = '1' so that when a customer quits our service their old page doesn't show up in Google.

On the ListX page I have the following in the "No Results" section. (extra spaces around < > for Active Forum.
< b >No Results< /b >
< h3 >The AFH is not currently listed or hosted at www.AgingSafely.com < /h3 >
< p >See www.AgingSafely.com's < a href="http://www.AgingSafely.com/Listed_Homes.aspx" >Listed Home< /a > page to search for another AFH.< /p >
< p >You will be redirected there in ten seconds.< /p >
< meta http-equiv="refresh" content="10;url=http://www.AgingSafely.com/Listed_Homes.aspx" >

While this gets the job done for the user I suspect that Google will never de-list this page since its status is still 200. Is there better way to deal with is situation.

Maybe some way to force a status of 404 while still displaying the data and redirecting?

If you don't mind having just the HTML you wrote above on the page, you can create an assignment action to a Variable Type "Status Code" of 404. This will tell google that your page is a 404.

I am still a little confused about how to do this.

I have in my actions

# Message: Awaiting incoming message with Type 'Return404'.
# Assignment: Assign STATUSCODE variable 'StatusCode' to '404'.

On the Default (No Results) page I have in my html along with my old html:

{ACTION,Return404,Return404,,Message}

Currently the ACTION Message is causing"
href="__doPostBack('dnn:ctr797:xListing','Return404,Return404,,M')"
My application uses only a couple of messages and those are to do updates and create new records etc.

I would be grateful for any help,

Ping !

Anybody got a working 404 "Not Found" page done with ListX that would be willing a discrible the working code?

I really need a way to get Google to do the right thing when a record no longer exists. I would think that others might have the same issue.
