Everyone

We have released R2i Open Web Studio to the general DNN community. This is the culmination of a year of development effort and includes over 4 months of heavy BETA testing. Kudos to the more than 50 BETA testers. The product is solid!

So let me answer a few questions:

1. Is the Name ListX, NukeDK or R2i Open Web Studio?
- Well over 3 years ago we named this baby ListX because the original purpose was for reporting. It has come a long way. So with this new generation product we took the opportunity to name it something we feel meets the expectation - R2i Open Web Studio. Open because it is an open source project. Web Studio because all development is done from anywhere, anytime via your browser.

2. What about current NukeDk.ListX owners?
- R2i OWS is 100% backward compatible. You can upgrade to the Core level for free, run the installation and import your current configurations.

3. R2i OWS is Free?
- Yes the core version of OWS is 100% free. We are providing a Community and Enterprise subscription level for advanced support on a quarterly subscription charge basis. Communty will be $50/month and Enterprise $75 / month. There will be no discounts applied for current NukeDk.ListX users.

4. What are some of the new features?
- Too many to list but here are some highlights: Faster performance, Use of JSON, a completely revamped IDE, global management of configurations, better debugging tools, more funtions, an awesome QuickBuilder tool for generating CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) including inline editing in minutes, and much more.

5. How do I get it?
- We are distributing R2i OWS thru SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/r2iopenwebstudi/

- We also created a dedicated web site at www.OpenWebStudio.com

6. Will NukeDk.ListX still be supported?
- We plan to support NukeDk.Listx for a period of time but eventually phase it out as R2I OWS does so much more and will be the standard.

7. Is there something I can read or a user manual that explains R2i OWS?
- One of the major complaints about NukeDk.Listx is the lack of examples and documentation. With R2i OWS we are taking advantage of a Wiki format for a fluid realtime help manual or better named as a lknowledge bank. But we are also taking it further by including images, video samples, forum links that our users may also update. Rather than have to dig thru hundreds of forum entries this should become a more valuable resource that is relevant.

8. How can I get started?
- Go to www.OpenWebStudio.com and go thru the registration process, download the build off SourceForge and install it in your environment. We are also providing get started video walk thrus of the new IDE, QuickBuilder and more. In addition we are introducing what we call Social Development tools; Chat, Wiki, Forum, Issue Tracking and CodeShare for collaboration with the R2i OWS community.

Go ahead and register on www.OpenWebStudio.com to download the build and use the new Social Development tools.

Cheers

Great news but most the links on the community page still go to your beta site & the domo's tab says "You do not have access to view this tab within the portal.".
