I don't usually tout other modules very much, since I generally only use ListX... BUT

I decided to try HTTPCompressionAgent from Sanibel Logic. Although DNN has built in compression, I decided to try this module as it was supposed to compress a few things DNN didn't.

What I found was that for me this is a MUST HAVE WITH LISTX! If you have ever done any performance analysis on your site against ListX, you will notice that ANY ListX module you have is NOT compressed IF you have AJAX enabled. I loaded up HTTPCompressionAgent from Sanibel and low and behold... now ALL my ListX AJAX enabled modules are compressed. It's made a HUGE difference.

If performance and ListX AJAX enabled modules is a problem you have been looking to solve, give this a try.

ListX....makes you look brilliant, even though you're not.

Have you tried PageBlaster? I believe that in PageBlaster all AJAX data is not compressed, but why is this, and how does HTTPCompressionAgent get around whatever the problem is that PageBlaster is avoiding?

Thanks for the tip Pauldes.. giving it a spin.

We are currently using Port80 HTTPZip + Pageblaster + Ifinity URL Rewriter.. but I have never managed to get the Web/Script resource files to compress - In Port80 HTTPZip I added .AXD to the supported compression file types but it doesn't seem to kick in.

Currently in Pageblaster we have: <path pattern="(Web|Script)Resource" excludeFrom="All" /> , because there were some problems with Postbacks (i.e. in a Telerik Radgrid, you try changing the page size and nothing would happen after Postback).

I will report in on how it works in combination with Pageblaster/HTTPzip. I am still not satisfied with the speed/rendering of our main Listx grids, even after changing it all to <div>'s instead of table-based layout, and implementing SQL Rownumber method.. still seems a bit more sluggish than it should, maybe this module will do the trick.

Well, after buying and trying this module, I have to say it so far seems to work flawlessly on compressing the .AXD's. Plus the support is instant (Sunday afternoon < 2 hour email response). I have to second the endorsement on this one, if it works on our crazy site with all our compression stuff and assorted modules, for sure it will work wonders on basic setups. Thanks Pauldes!
