R2i began as a information systems provider offering software engineering and database services to clients in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2002 Snyder’s of Hanover, a national snack manufacturer, asked the founders of R2i to investigate the potential of a new Web technology and its suitability as the foundation of their corporate intranet website. That technology was DotNetNuke^® (DNN^®), the open-source version of Microsoft’s .NET programming language. The founders ran the new technology through a rigorous examination and determined it to be more than just suitable. They realized DNN^® would be the technology powering the next generation of business websites. After being in the dark with its use of DNN^® with various existing clients R2i opened its services to the growing DNN community with several module tools. First with an innovative menu tool called Navigator and a skin called Key Point. Soon after a useful CSS Editor was released. In the summer of 2005 the original ListX (now NukeDK) was released as a reporting tool. R2i also released a very popular and free mapping module called goMap.
